Seventh Annual Laurel Festival (2012)

BY INVITATION ONLY — Sunday 6 May 2012.
11:30am: Picnic by brook.  Try to arrive BEFORE noon, so it’s less hot out in the open before you walk through the woods to the brook, where it’s much cooler.  Various activities will probably run all day.  404-Freedom.Yes, the artwork is from 2006, but this invite is for 2012.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PICNIC FOOD, DRINK, AND PICNIC BLANKET.Be sure to click on “Read more” below to get important details! This is now the seventh year for our annual picnic next to the brook and under the blooming laurel trees.  We continue to enjoy our fabulous new home every day — not that there aren’t still things to finish on it!  (Elsewhere on this website you’ll find “Construction Photos”.)

We would love for you to join us for this family-friendly private picnic.

Our land is a little over 10 acres, in Ball Ground GA (actually east of Canton, south of Ball Ground).  If you haven’t been here, there is an absolutely beautiful brook located down the hill through the woods. There’s a picnic spot next to the brook. It’s all surrounded by perhaps an acre of laurel trees, plus some azaleas, and they’ll all be in bloom for the picnic.

MAP: Email Helmut or call Helmut’s cellphone for directions: 404-FREEDOM.

PLEASE COME PREPARED:

1) If it’s a choice between not coming or coming ill-prepared, please come regardless!

2)  I’ve forged a new path that doesn’t get as steep as the old one, especially on the return trip up hill.

3) The path is worn down enough now, that tennis shoes and even shorts are OK now.  You don’t have to worry about the briars.

4) Please wear sunscreen. Even though it’s very shady next to the brook, it’s very sunny in the cleared area.

5) If you’re sensitive to flying insects, wear insect repellent as well!

6) Bring a blanket if you have one, although many of us can share just a few.

7) Please bring your own picnic food and drinks.  We can supply the water.  We might make some additional food for you, but just in case be sure to bring enough for yourselves.
